Service Limitations
To protect the safety of our team and the integrity of your property, there are certain services Costina Cleaning Services does not provide during a standard appointment. Our technicians are trained to prioritize safe, eco-friendly cleaning over risky or highly specialized tasks.
Our team members will not:
- Climb ladders higher than a two-step stool or stand on furniture.
- Move or lift heavy furniture or appliances that normally require multiple people or tools.
- Clean biohazard materials, including blood, bodily fluids, animal waste, pest infestations, or areas with active mold growth.
- Perform tasks that may put their health, safety, or equipment at risk, such as working in unstable structures or with unknown chemicals.
- Clean extremely fragile, antique, or unstable items without prior written approval from the customer.
If a requested task falls outside our standard scope of work, our Arlington-based team will happily discuss alternatives or recommend a more appropriate specialist.
Pets & Home Safety
We love pets and proudly serve many pet-friendly homes across Northern Virginia. To keep both your pets and our team comfortable, we ask that pets are secured in a separate room, crate, or safe area during the cleaning visit.
While we always do our best to be careful, Costina Cleaning Services cannot be responsible for pets that slip out of the home or interact with cleaning products or equipment. Please let us know in advance if your pet is anxious, reactive, or requires special accommodation so we can plan accordingly.
Move-In / Move-Out Cleanings
Move-in and move-out cleanings help prepare your space for a fresh start. To complete these services effectively, we require access to working electricity, running water, and clear walkways throughout the home or unit.
Please confirm that utilities are active and the property is accessible on the day of service. If our team arrives and cannot proceed due to disconnected utilities, locked access, or unsafe conditions, a cancellation or rescheduling fee may apply.
Photos for Quality Assurance
In some cases, our technicians may take limited before and after photos of specific areas, such as bathrooms, floors, or high-traffic zones. These images help us monitor the quality of our work, support training, and review complex projects.
Any photos captured by Costina Cleaning Services will focus on cleaning results and will not intentionally include identifiable personal information. If we ever wish to use photos for marketing purposes (for example, on our website or social media), we will request your permission first.
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
When you reserve a cleaning time with Costina, we hold that slot just for you and schedule our team accordingly. To keep our operations fair for both customers and staff, we kindly request at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
Cancellations, reschedules, or lockouts with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a fee, which helps cover our team’s reserved time and travel. Repeated last-minute changes may require prepayment for future appointments.
If we ever need to adjust your appointment due to weather, staffing, or unforeseen events, we will communicate with you as early as possible and offer the next available time that works for your schedule.
Limitation of Liability
Costina Cleaning Services treats every home with care. However, normal wear, pre-existing damage, or items that are already loose, unstable, or not disclosed as fragile may be at higher risk for damage during regular use or cleaning.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Costina Cleaning Services is not liable for:
- Pre-existing damage, deterioration, or staining that cannot be removed through cleaning.
- Damage to items that were not properly secured, installed, or disclosed as delicate (such as artwork, loose wall fixtures, or unstable shelving).
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost income, missed appointments, or business interruption arising from or related to our services.
If an issue arises, please contact us within a reasonable timeframe so our Arlington team can review the situation and work toward a fair resolution.
